Last week's meeting report

This week's meeting was dedicated to discussing communications. Broadly speaking, the discussion fell into three parts;
  1. Who do we communicate to - Those we serve, Club members, and the public.
  2. What do we communicate - Fellowship and Club business, and our projects and other work
  3. Who does the communication - who is responsible for posts and creating content, and does AI have a potential role in this area?
A recording of the discussion will be made available to all members.

Announcements

Ana Sutherland - Membership Committee meeting Wednesday January 10th, 4 pm.

On February 17th, there will be a "fireside chat" for newer members, their mentors, and any other interested members. We want to know, what is your Rotary experience? This will be held at Bill and Joan Egnatoff's home, 10:30 am arrival, 11 am start. More details will follow.

As we discuss communications this week, we would like your input on our weekly scrum. Should it continue in it's present form and time each week (Wednesday morning)? It is a useful thing for the club, but should it be changed in any way? Do you attend? Would you like o attend? Talk to Ana if you have input.

Greg Mumford - Need member for Bingo January 11th at 5 pm (secured) and 2 for next Thursday January 18th at 9 pm (one secured).

Elizabeth Cohoe - Lunch by George needs your help;
What better way to start the new year than with a clear out of your closets at home?
Lunch by George is looking for clothing donations from our community. We are looking specifically for the following:
- sweatpants/joggers in size large or extra large (preferably black with a drawstring waist that allows us to use them for male or female)
- men's winter coats in size large or extra large or XXXL (really the bigger the better)
- winter boots for men in size 11, 12 or 13
The weather has made this need acute this winter, so we would be grateful for donations of the above items.
Donations of clothes can be dropped off any week day preferably before 10:30 a.m. at 129 Wellington Street. Please do not make a drop off in the afternoon.
Thank you for considering donating much-needed winter items to Lunch by George for our clients!

Donations can be brought to the January 16th meeting.

From our former Exchange Student London Buss - I’m taking part in the Polar Plunge in support of Special Olympics Ontario and was wondering if you would be willing to share it with the club? It’s such a great cause! Thanks!

The Polar Plunge is February 11th, 2024 at 11am in Confederation Park
