
Today, Heather Nogrady, chair of the Cataraqui-Kingston Rotary club's Community Service Grants Committee, announced the awarding of six grants valued at $12,400. The grants ranged in value from $4,250 to $500.
A. Queen’s University at Kingston, SISTEMA Kingston program -
$4,250 for their innovative and multifaceted music and performing arts project, “Star Catchers,” for elementary school students.
B. Melos Choir and Period Instruments -
$2,850 for their “Opening Choral Doors” project in support of financially challenged choristers.
C. The Maritime Museum of the Great Lakes at Kingston (Great Lakes Museum) -
$2,500 for their “50th Anniversary Accessibility Project,” specifically, accessible doors.
E. Turtles Kingston -
$2,400 for their ”2026 Turtle Season Launch” project.
C. Ryandale Transitional Housing -

$1,800 for their “RentSMART Training” project aimed at assisting Ryandale residents to become successful renters.

$500 for their “2025 Christmas Season” project for handmade gifts for F&CS client families and/or hospitalized children.
G. Kingston Secondary School -
$500 School-Based Mini-Grant was awarded for their “KSS Leadership Conference 2025” for Grade 9 and 10 students.
The money for these grants is raised through such fund raising activities as the Club's Annual “Bid to Give” Auction.
