The Rotary Four Way Test
Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned
Rotary Reflection
For food in a world where many walk in hunger
For peace in a world where many walk in fear
For friends in a world where many walk alone
And for the opportunity to serve others through Rotary,
May we be truly thankful!
The Loyal Toast
Ladies and Gentlemen, the Queen of Canada!

Heather saw a Robin - if you've seen one pay a buck. That led to a question, why do Robins come north early? Food, not temperature.
When was sunrise this morning? 7:01 am.
When is sunset? 5:38 pm.
How many minutes does the sunrise change every day? 2 minutes.
When is the vernal equinox in 2020? March 19th, 11:50 pm.
Happy/Sad Bucks
John Farrow had a sad buck for the clouds this morning, which means we missed the occultation of Mars by the moon.
Martin Thomas had an information buck - at Winterlude in Ottawa his granddaughter's frustration with skates led to tears, which was easily solved with a Beaver Tail!
Ana had a happy buck for all we do and this morning's vote.

Discussion of funding 12th Centennial project
This morning's main discussion was should the club commit funds to the 12th Centennial Project in the amount of up to $15,000. This would require a suspension of the spring grants protocol because that would take up $10,000 from Community Grants, $4,000 from National Committee funds and $1,000 from Youth Services. We may not need all the funds - we will be asking for a District Grant of up to $2,500. The target of the project also has raised $15,000 of their own money and will be applying for funds from other sources.
Treasurer Rick provided some perspective on the workings of the Centennial Committee and how this project fits in. After several questions the project was approved unanimously by those present.
Further details of the discussions will be emailed to all club members for review.
Jim Rymerson, Easter Seals
Club donations are at $400 so far, you can donate on line or by asking Jim for a paper form. Make sure you indicate the donation is for C-K Rotary's team. There is no club matching this year so President Ana said please be generous.

The first meeting of the committee for this year’s auction will take place Feb 19th at 5 pm at Kingston Dodge. New participants are welcome. We need everyone to be as enthusiastic about the auction as our major fundraiser as we are about the projects we fund - as our discussion this morning indicates.
