The Rotary Four Way Test
Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned
Rotary Reflection
For food in a world where many walk in hunger
For peace in a world where many walk in fear
For friends in a world where many walk alone
And for the opportunity to serve others through Rotary,
May we be truly thankful!

John Gale updated us on 3 most recent International Projects:
With RC Madras, Built 321 toilets in Kannan Kottai Village(including 4 schools) where they have none! Huge health risk as folks ‘go’ in the rice fields……. $130,000 US project where we donated $5,000 US – the rest of the money gained from other clubs and matching District and Foundation funds.Friendship exchange folks can see this (and perhaps try them out!)
Children’s Heart Surgeries with Meenambakkam RC in Chennai:Total $80,000 and we put in $2,500
Madras East RC (6 projects with this club – 3 in East Africa, 3 in India) $120,000 project where we put in $5,000.To purchase new diagnostic equipment to place in 4 clinics for cataract surgery for indigent folks.
We should be doing this here in Kingston! Perhaps the centennial project here in Kingston? We have been chatting with Pathways to Education about such a project, and we have 3 Indian clubs interested in participating. Something focused on helping teens transition from high school to post secondary so they don’t quit their program, but finish and then find employment. This is a 3 year $160,000 project. This is one potential project for our consideration.
Our friend Onagottay will be released from the hospital tonight! (Jan 31st) We have set up a "meal train" for Paulette and her two daughters, and several members have already volunteered. There is a calendar set up where you may volunteer to bring a prepared dinner over to their house. This will really help in several ways, as Paulette is incurring extra costs just getting to the hospital every day, and also it will relieve her from meal planning, some cooking, and extra grocery shopping. The instructions are on the Meal Train website. If you are able to help out, please let Elizabeth know, because email addresses for recipients of the link must be added individually by hand on the Meal Train website. A simple link in an email from me won't work. I may be reached at ecohoe@gmail.com. I hope you can help! It will mean a lot to Onagottay and Paulette, and take away some stress from both of them.
