For food in a world where many walk in hunger
For peace in a world where many walk in fear
For friends in a world where many walk alone
And for the opportunity to serve others through Rotary,
May we be truly thankful!

The Loyal Toast
Rotarians and guests, to the King, Canada, and all its Peoples

Acknowledgement of Territory
We are gathered on traditional Anishinaabe (An-ish(-in)-ah'-bay), Haudenosaunee (ho-den-o-sho'-nee) and Huron-Wendat Territory. We recognize these nations for their care and stewardship over these lands. We are grateful to be able to join together in Rotary Fellowship to learn, share knowledge, and live on these lands.

Speaker Thanks
Bread has been one of the staples of life throughout history and is seen in its many forms in all cultures. The breaking and sharing of bread is symbolic of life, peace, and the building of friendships. This loaf of bread is given to you as a symbol of our friendship and in thanks for sharing with us today.

Vicki Casey, B.A. (Hon), B.S.T., has worked in child welfare for 20 years, with the first 17 years as a front-line Family Services Worker. She spent much of her time working with children ages 0-6, which made for a seamless transition to her current role as Supervisor of A Great Start for Families Kahwà:tsire Ronwatiyenawá:se Centre, which is an early intervention/prevention centre for families that have children under the age of 6. She loves supporting families and helping them to learn their potential.

Ryandale "Come meet the neighbours BBQ".
Jun 13, 2026 1:30 PM - 4:00 PM

From Ryandale Transitional Housing

We’re excited to invite you to the Palmerston Neighbourhood BBQ!

📍 Address: 1056 Palmerston Crescent
 Date: June 13th
🕐 Time: 1:30 PM – 4:00 PM

This will be a BBQ potluck, so if you’re able to bring a side dish or dessert to share, that would be wonderful. We will be providing hotdogs, hamburgers, and drinks.

This is a rain or shine, clean and sober, family-friendly event, so bring the kids and come enjoy an afternoon of food, connection, and community!

Please RSVP to info@ryandale.ca.

This event is made possible through a generous grant from the Rotary Club of Cataraqui Kingston, and the United Way KFLA. We are incredibly grateful for their support in bringing the community together.

We hope to see you there!

Warm regards,

The Ryandale Team

Homes for Heroes Foundation

Jun 16, 2026 11:30 AM

Homes For Heroes’ tiny home village in Kingston is a place of community, camaraderie, and celebration.

Opened in June 2024, the Kingston Veterans’ Village was made possible through the support of all levels of government, national stakeholders, local businesses, social groups, and individuals across Canada. The local steering committee, led by Mark Hutchings, played an instrumental role in the success of this project.

The village’s design pays homage to Kingston’s beautiful architecture, featuring 20 tiny homes, a resource center, case manager offices, therapy rooms, community gardens, and outdoor recreation spaces.

Come and hear Travis speak about Homes for Heroes. Location TBA.
