KFL&A Public Health Fall Prevention Ambassadors - preventing falls for seniors

The Fall Prevention Program enlists trained volunteers to share evidence-based information and practical resources on falls prevention to older adults in KFL&A. Falls can happen at any time but tend to increase in the winter due to snow and ice.  Most falls cause broken or fractured bones and increase the need for caregiver support and add pressure to the health care system. The good news is that most falls are predictable and preventable. This is an important message for people to understand.
